Feedback Regarding Final Music Video:

We had the opportunity to showcase our final music video to peers and media teachers and received a range of verdict from them which will contribute to completing our evaluation. The feedback from the target audience mostly praised our range of locations and urban settings, whilst also having a positive attitude to the swift transitions as well as the lyrics that correlate.

CD Art Inspiration:

I noticed that the website Canva (https://www.canva.com/templates/cd-covers/MACF43YgvJ8-skull-black-textured-music-album-cover/) includes a wide range of CD cover templates which enables me to see what elements work well as well as the typical codes and conventions included in a front cover.

Initial Ideas:

I created a rough plan on what I wish to incorporate in my final print products on a word document. This has enabled me to envision the products much more vividly and is a head start on preparation.

CD Pitch & Feedback

Moving on to the print products, I then received feedback from my pitch regarding our initial ideas. I had a range of feedback, a peer had mentioned the importance of having a clear release date as it was not reinforced in my mock up. We also had a positive comment on the consistency of the house theme and therefore the motif of the poster must be consistent with the theme e.g Graffiti. I also received a lot of feedback on my mock-ups which I will use as a guide for my final product due to the audience feedback.

Mock-Up Self Evaluation:

After receiving valuable feedback from peers when presenting the mock-ups, I have heightened my opinion on the work produced. I am aware that the outcome is not the best, as I was limited for time and it was my first attempt. The print advert had a nice correlation to the song itself and acted as a nice promotional method by making it appear to be ambiguous, therefore creating a sense of suspense. However I am wary of the text being difficult to read in certain areas as the colours  blended in and will ensure this will be avoided in the actual task. I also would improve the use of text and only use a more eye-catching font for either 'RAYE' or 'Bet You Wish', this is because including both in a bold,3D text appears to be attempting to 'sell' too much to the audience and should therefore be either the song title or name of the artist.

The composition of the front and back cover could be improved as it is not making most of space available and seems to be crammed in, I wish to subvert this idea and attempt to use space efficiently in the main task of producing the back and front cover. However I do enjoy the 3 way-colour scheme and contrast of the fonts as it acts as a statement piece to the CD artwork. Overall, I am content with the final outcome with the mock-ups and do appreciate the fact that there are issues, however it has intensified my understanding of producing a professional final product as well as incorporating common codes and conventions.
